We ran out of time for students to blog today, so I'm logging their information as they eat snack today.
In Mrs. Johnson's room, we completed a sheet about our nonfiction topic. We also worked on our nonfiction research.
In Mrs. Bruno's room, we took a fraction quiz before moving to social studies. We talked about why people from other countries might have moved to our country in the late 1800s. Immigration is the word used to describe people leaving their country to move to another country. We watched a Schoolhouse Rock video called "The Great American Melting Pot." We'll work on a project in class as we learn more about immigration. It's called a paper slide, and we'll video information on paper to teach others about immigration. We watched a water cycle paper slide video and critiqued what we'd like to do the same way as the video and what we'd like to do differently.

Today is Friday! We went to see the Jungle book. We had a spelling test .We got books to reaserch things. We get to eat yummy foods .We had a math computishon and lost. We watched Brain pop .We finished our grammar sheet. Yesterday was Mrs.Heins last day.We have a new book from Mrs.Hein.

We're in a hurry today, so Mrs. Bruno is typing! : )
We took a reading test today on A Chair for My Mother. We also played Newsamatic and Raz-Kids on the iPads.
Today we're having a math competition against Mrs. O'Brien's class at 11:00. We sure hope we move on to the second round of March MATHness. Mrs. Johnson's class went against Mrs. Wolfe's class at 8:30 this morning.
This afternoon, we'll work on fractions in math. For social studies, we'll watch the cartoon The Lorax. We'll identify and categorize things in the movie as natural resources, human (well . . . sort of) resources, and capitol resources. We'll also be looking for ways that the book and the movie are different.

WE had to do two math 4 todays we did centers in mrs johnsons room. It is open house tonight.we did our character map. some of us don't have to do spelling sentents we started reading our social studys book.some of our catapillers got out of the cage. mrs Johnson talked about open house. in mrs Brunos room we are making a owl and eagle chart..Open house last one hour.
