Friday, 4-19

This morning, we did not combine classes.  Our morning work was an editing sheet about the Statue of Liberty.

In math, we did a measurement activity.  We measured the length of different animals using feet.  Because Mrs. Bruno didn't have a 200 ft tape measure, we used the tiles on the floor as our measuring tool.  We measured the length of a great white shark, an elephant, a dolpin, an anaconda, a snow leopard, a Siberian tiger, a blue whale, and even a sun jellyfish.  The sun jellyfish is 200 feet long.  When we measured from our classroom door, it went all the way down our green hall and into the red hall.  We stood in front of Mrs. O'Brien's door.  You can't even see us in the picture when we're that far away.

Afterwards, we completed a word problem about producers and consumers, which led us into our social studies.  We talked about goods and services today.  We learned that, when Mrs. Bruno teaches us, she provides a SERVICE for us.  However, our parents have to buy school supplies for school, which are GOODS.

We're having snack now, and then we'll head to Mrs. Johnson's room!  We hope to have some responses to our blog over the weekend.  We're missing getting our messages!!!  :(
