Wednesday, 9-11

For morning work, we read StoryTown to review for our reading test.  We also did something new called Doodleloops.  This is where we are given an abstract picture and have to build a scene around it.  Then, we write a story to go with it on the back.

Next, we headed to specials and PE.

In Mrs. Johnson's room, we took our reading test and finished Doodleloops.  We also read library books.

After lunch and recess, we switched classes.  In Mrs. Bruno's room, we practiced double facts to our little dude who sings to us!  : )  We did a tricky science word problem and Math Magician.  Then, we did science . . . yea!!!!!  Today, we talked about properties of solids, describing four specific ones . . . flexible, rigid, rough, and smooth.  We also learned "science bad words" for properties.  Mrs. Bruno said that describing solids with words like "big," "little," "good," or "bad" were awful choices!!!!!  These words cannot give you information about a solid!  We learned better words to replace them, like comparing sizes or smells to objects everyone knows.  We observed several examples of solids and picked out which ones were flexible, rigid, rough, and smooth.  We'll learn even more properties tomorrow and observe the solids again!  Mrs. Bruno can't wait for her Friday surprise for our solids and liquids unit!!!!!

  1. I was going to tell you what a "good" blog post, but I realize that would not be a good word choice. So, how about.... Interesting, informative, descriptive, and helpful. It has helped me see what a busy day you have had today!
